About me and Perinatal Depression PND

Perinatal Depression PND and me

After four missed miscarriages, I finally found a medical trial that led to a successful pregnancy. By this point I was so emotionally battered that I didn’t recognise that I was struggling with perinatal depression PND. Depression wasn’t something I’d ever suffered with before. I felt such incredible pressure to feel the expected elation of finally having my rainbow baby, that my baby was 11months old before I sought help, making my recovery harder than it needed to be.

Holistic Service for PND Sufferers

I would have really benefited from a space that provided holistic/complementary activities, specifically supporting PND sufferers. My vision is to provide it. With lots of help from family and friends I’ve started my journey to eventually open a centre that will support women, and their families, who are are suffering with perinatal depression.

The Mental Health Doula

As part of our journey, we have begun to offer a Doula service during pregnancy to help stave off the signs and anxieties of perinatal depression pnd. You can read more on this site about what a doula does, but in short Doulas offer a range of services to help support you during and after pregnancy. The main types of doula are labour/birth doula, antenatal doula and postnatal doula.
